Tu Huynh (PhD Student, Horticulture and Crop Science) was awarded an Ohio Soybean Council Grant for her project "Exploring Tools for Gene Characterization in Soybean Seeds". Her work aims to explore two molecular approaches, 1) virus induced gene silencing with Apple Latent Spherical Virus, and 2) gene silencing in soybean embryogenic tissue using CRISPR/Cas9 and particle bombardment, to characterize interesting genes in the seed system.
